In addition, our greenhouses are very warm to keep plants growing, which makes them more susceptible to cold damage. Already just a year from my last year’s (2018) purchase of this rooted cutting it has set fruit. It is growing well in Zone 9B in a 2gal. pot with no difficulties and has tripled in size.
It has lived up to its reputation as a most welcome seasoning accent for Thai cooking (e.g., green curry chicken) in lieu of lemongrass.
It will be interesting to experiment with using the zest from the fruit in recipes once it has matured later on this season. It seems to set fruit mainly in clusters of 3 to 5 at the tips of the mature branches.
