Getting Your Trees

The Basics

We ship most weeks Monday – Wednesday in Florida so that packages arrive before the weekend.

Out of state shipping is primarily on Monday and Tuesday.
Shipping is via UPS Ground. Most Florida locations deliver in 1 to 2 days.

We package carefully to avoid damage, but it does happen. If damage occurs during shipment, email or call within 24 hours of delivery. Take pictures of PACKAGING and TREE. Without pictures, we can’t make a claim. Email pictures to [email protected].

If temperatures are below 40°F between Florida and your location, we will email and recommend that we hold your order until the weather is warmer.

We do NOT guarantee plants shipped during freezing weather.

NO SHIPPING TO: AK, AZ, CA, HI, LA, TX, Puerto Rico, Guam, U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, and Northern Mariana Islands. This is a USDA regulation.

Pickup at Nursery - By Appt. Only

Due to the diseases that affect citrus, we do not allow visitors inside the greenhouses. However, we do allow you to pickup your order with an appointment. Simply place your order and indicate that you prefer to pickup, and call or email to schedule your appointment. We are available for pickups Monday – Friday. Thank you in advance for scheduling your pickup and not just showing up at the nursery.

Our Packaging

Our trees are not shipped bare root. They are shipped in the growing pot with all the soil. We take great care to package our trees to avoid damage during transit. We pack in a cardboard box that protects the tree. A screw is placed through the box and pot to keep the tree from moving around and crushing top during shipment.

Once you receive, simply remove the screw and open the box from the bottom. Pull your new citrus tree out pot first. While the box protects the tree from damage, it cannot prevent the tree from freezing or getting too hot. Do not leave box in the sun.

Out of State Shipping

We are a USDA certified shipper, which means we can ship to all US states EXCEPT Arizona, California, Hawaii, Louisiana and Texas. USDA regulations also prohibit shipments to Puerto Rico, Guam, US Virgin Islands, American Samoa, and Northern Mariana Islands.

Out of state shipping is normally on Monday and Tuesday so that your trees arrive prior to the weekend. We utilize UPS ground for shipments.

International Orders

Please email us to discuss your needs. Many countries prohibit citrus from Florida. Others require import permits and Phytosanitary certificates. Please check with your country for requirements to receive citrus from Florida, USA.

I purchased 2 citrus trees from Brite Leaf a few weeks ago. They both arrived in great condition, definitely well packed for shipping. More importantly, the trees are beautiful, vibrant green and healthy. I am truly impressed with my purchase. The cost of the trees + shipping was excellent, especially since I do not live in Florida. I have had local growers in my state quote me double the shipping cost for basically the same size trees. Extremely happy that I heard about Brite Leaf in a Facebook Citrus Group.

I had a fantastic experience working with this nursery! I was going crazy looking for a small calamondin/calamansi tree at my local nurseries. They didn't seem to have any this year, or else they were HUGE - completely unsuitable for the indoor/outdoor life a citrus tree in Chicago needs to lead.

I found Brite Leaf Citrus on the web and was heartened to see they were selling calamansi. Better yet, the nursery was so pleasant to communicate with, and addressed all of my questions and concerns with the utmost care.

After our online interactions, I had a good feeling about my tree. It just arrived today - barely 48 hours after it was shipped - and it looks great! I couldn't be happier with my tree or Brite Leaf Citrus Nursery. I am happy to have found them, and would certainly do business with them again.

Placed an online order for a Yuzu right before Christmas as a present. My order was processed swiftly and the plant was packed with care and arrived safely. As of March 9th it even has several blooms. Already placed my second order for Honeybell tangelo and Sunburst tangerine. Now I just need more space to plant more beautiful citrus.

Amazing healthy plants. Received 5 days after ordering. Insulated and individually packaged. Had a screw and washer in the plastic nursery pot to keep the plants from sliding in the boxes. Genius. I've always been nervous about ordering plants online but have always wanted a Buddha's hand citrus tree. I took a chance and boy was it worth it! I also got another rooted cutting and both trees were impeccably packaged and there was no damage on either tree. Both were incredibly healthy and had new growth and good looking roots. I've done well with other citrus trees and plants and really hope I can do these trees justice. Not only were the quality of the trees amazing the pricing for them is very good as well.

Ordered a Meyer Lemon Rooted cutting tree. Shipped to NC and arrived well packaged. It was alive and great state. Shipped on a Monday and got here on Thursday. Pricing was fair, heard about them from a YouTube gardener. He got the same tree and was thriving.

Came with good instructions on how to take care as well.
