Yuzu is a natural hybrid (Citrus ichangensis x Citrus reticulata) that originated in Japan, where it was often used as a rootstock. Thre fruit is yellow and the size of a medium tangerine with a lemon-like taste and easily peeled rough skin.  It is very cold resistant and can go deciduous during cold spells. When fully dormant it can tolerate temperatures below freezing.
